I’m Kalahan — a wedding and family photographer with over 16 years of experience documenting meaningful wedding days. For many years, weddings were the heart of my work. In more recent seasons, I stepped away from weddings to focus almost exclusively on family photography. That season shaped me in ways I didn’t expect. It deepened my understanding of what these days are truly about — not just a timeline or a ceremony, but families gathering to witness the beginning of a new family. That perspective has become central to the way I photograph weddings. I’m now genuinely excited to step back into wedding photography on a small, intentional scale, offering a limited number of weddings each year for couples in Eastern Washington. Serving locally allows me to approach wedding days with a calm, thoughtful presence — attentive to the relationships, quiet moments, and people who matter most.
Family photography remains the soul of my business, and it naturally shapes how I document wedding days: with care for legacy, connection, and the generations coming together to celebrate something new.

This collection includes a complimentary engagement session, giving us time to get to know each other before the wedding day and helping you feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera. With 6 hours of coverage, there is time for formal portraits, the ceremony, most of the reception, and all of the natural, in-between moments that often become favorites. I photograph these weddings personally, guiding you throughout the day and keeping everything running smoothly so you can stay relaxed and present with your family and friends. This collection is a wonderful fit for couples planning a traditional wedding day who want beautiful, natural documentation and a calm, attentive experience from start to finish.

1. Do we have to take the engagement session?
Engagement sessions are included complimentary for a reason. While you are not required to use it, removing the engagement session does not change the price of your wedding collection. I truly believe this time together is what leads to such natural, connected wedding photos. Getting to know one another beforehand allows you to feel comfortable in front of my camera and helps the wedding day flow more seamlessly. I often describe the engagement session as a rehearsal for the big day. It sets the foundation for photographs that feel relaxed, genuine, and true to you.
2. When will we receive our photos? Do you offer sneak peeks?
Yes, sneak peeks are always included. As a former bride myself, I understand how much anticipation surrounds those first images, and quick delivery is something I prioritize. You can expect a selection of sneak peek images within 48 hours of your wedding day. Your full wedding gallery will be delivered within 30 days.
3. Do you travel for weddings?
At this time, I am exclusively serving Eastern Washington. I will make one exception per year for a wedding in the Portland or Vancouver area, as we have family there. With five little kids at home, extended travel isn’t something I’m able to offer right now. Thank you for understanding and respecting this season of life for our family.
4. Who will be our second photographer?
Second photography coverage is provided by either Sean or my sister, Kylee. Both are experienced, professional, and wonderful to work with. Which one joins me on your wedding day depends on what best suits our family for that particular date, as whoever is not photographing will be home with our kids. You are welcome to share your preference, and I will always do my best to honor it whenever possible.
5. What is the booking process?
To begin, please fill out the inquiry form or email me directly at info@kalahanandsean.com to confirm availability for your wedding date and year. If I am available, we will schedule a phone call or FaceTime to get to know one another and walk through any questions you may have. If you decide I am the right fit for your day, I will send over a contract to review and complete. To officially reserve your date, a signed contract and non refundable reservation deposit are required. ($1,000 for The Signature Collection, $1,500 for The Heirloom Collection, custom for the Intimate.) Once your contract and deposit are received, your date is officially booked and we can move forward with scheduling your engagement session. About two months before your wedding, I will send a detailed questionnaire to gather final details. Once completed, I am happy to provide a proposed photography timeline if needed. The remaining balance is due 30 days prior to your wedding date.
6. Do you help with posing and direction?
Yes. My approach is well guided but natural. I will offer direction when needed while also leaving space for genuine moments to unfold. You can expect a balance of beautifully composed portraits and honest, in between moments throughout your day.
7. Do you photograph elopements or small weddings?
Yes. I offer a fully custom collection for elopements, small weddings, and celebrations with simplified timelines. Because every intimate wedding looks different, coverage is tailored to your day. Please reach out directly for availability and custom pricing.
8. Do you offer any add ons?
Yes. A limited number of add ons are available to further tailor your wedding coverage. These may include rehearsal dinner or welcome gathering coverage, expedited editing for faster gallery delivery, additional coverage time, or expanded second photographer coverage when available. All add ons are offered by request and are quoted separately based on availability and the needs of your wedding day.
9. Do you charge sales tax?
Yes. Washington State sales tax is already included in the total price of each wedding collection. There are no additional taxes added beyond your quoted collection price.
